Slide show below is from a typical home install.  This is a small system (860 W), but it should offset about 15% of the electricity usage of this reasonably efficient home, or 2 months of bills.  In April 2010, it produced 120 kWh.

This system uses micro-inverters (one per panel) and includes a standard meter for output measurement.  If the meter was not included, the actual system production would not be measurable--it would be swallowed up in the "net metering."
